SIN and SALVATION

We Believe, every person is disobedient to God’s desires and plans in varying degrees. Any disobedience to God, regardless of how large or small, is characterized as “sin.” “Sin” literally separates each person from God, which is spiritual death. Spiritual death is not God’s desire. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works; it can never be earned, as salvation is a gift from God the Father.

Salvation is only given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.  Salvation is based on the work of Jesus on the cross; where He sacrificially died, bearing the sin and punishment, for all. Jesus made this outward sacrifice, paying this price required of sin, for all those who believe in Him, so we can be united with God.

This eternal promise and gift begins when the person makes a confession of sin, confession of faith by accepting Jesus' invitation into a relationship with Him, followed by the outward obedience of baptism.   Upon this personal decision, God re-establishes a personal relationship with that person and sin is forgiven.  They are given the gift of the Holy Spirt - as our comforter, our guide and our direct communication route to Him.

BAPTISM

We Believe, baptism is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and at that moment Grace, Forgivenss and Salvation are given to us and it is then the Holy Spirit indwells in us.

Following our understanding of Scripture, we practice baptism by immersion; the Greek word used exclusively throughout the New Testament for baptism is “baptizo,” which means to plunge, dip, or immerse. Jesus modeled this form of baptism and commanded it, making baptism an act of obedience and faith. Baptism by immersion represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, symbolizing our old self dying (spiritual death), being buried in the water, and raised as a new creation in Christ Jesus.
